Possibly my favorite blog to visit.

OK, so sometimes I blog surf. I have read some good ones. There is one I bookmarked and have been secretly stalking for the last few months. It is called "The truth about Sean." He is related to the Hong family here in Blackfoot, and is friends with Marisa Park-some of you may know her (also a fun blog writer). He is taking courses in education at BYU, and is somewhat of a celebrity in Prahvo (as he calls it). This is a guy who LOVES his life.
Fun Sean fact: You can see him in High School Musical 3.
So, for your reading pleasure I have made a link to him on my blog.
I have never been disappointed when I have gone to his blog and since he loves many readers, and since he gave me a shout out in a recent posting, I am advising you to check in on the antics of Sean once in a while.
Check out the San Diego Zoo post. Good stuff.

Dad: How was your day?
Student: Good. We had a fire drill. I only wiped once.

On the second one, I was a little less than professional. I did laugh. Especially after Dad replies, "What did you say?!?"

Can you help me?

No, I don't need any help with the gym. I went again last night and am so happy to report that I can walk today. Tomorrow may be another story.
What I actually need help with is this:
My friend Jana Hatch, who happens to be in the relief society presidency of our ward called me and asked me to do a favor. She wants me to be in charge of the 13th ward book club. My dilemma is this, while I love to read, I haven't read a "grown up" book for a while. I don't know how they'd feel about The BFG, which is the book I am reading aloud now to the students. We already did The Miraculous Adventure of Edward Tulane (thanks Sarah). What I am asking for is titles we can read then discuss. So...if you have knowledge of any book that would be fun, please let me know.

I'm Back

On Monday I went back to Golds Gym for the first time in about 4 months.
Ouch. Thats about all I can say. I have been asking myself why I ever liked it.
A guy at the gym told me to hang with, your muscles have memory and will bounce back. I sure hope so. I can't walk.

New Look

So, I am always so jealous of the cute blogs you all have, so I follow your link and find a plethera of cuteness. Now that I have spent the last 10 minutes making it look "cute" I am not sure I like it. I think it looked better on the web page, it was smaller.
Oh well.
By the way, I think I got the whole phone bill thing straightened out. I hope.

Yes, our phone bill is about 260.00 a month cuz we "bundle." Supposedly we are saving money. Whatever.
Anyway, how dumb do you have to be to pay the same bill twice--on the same day--AT CHRISTMASTIME!!!!!! Yes, I will be accepting donations to get us off the poor farm.
Just thought I would share--and many of you thought my eye was my disability.

Merry Christmas

I was thinking today about the angels who sang at the birth of Christ. The thought of their joyful sound and the reason for it made me pause.
I was pondering how truly excited they must have been to know that with the birth of our Savior would come the fulfillment of the plan that would allow us to return to our Father in Heaven. My own dad was really sick this last summer and as I sat with him in the hospital, I couldn't help but think how I would miss him if he were to leave us. I really look to him for direction and help. He has been invaluable to me always, but especially these last few months. I thought of how much I miss my other Father, and how much I do want to see Him again.
I thought about that tiny baby in a cave wrapped in rags, and who He would become.
I thought of how he raised the dead, healed the sick, and an especially tender thing for me--made the blind to see.
I thought of that tiny baby held by loving mother's arms and looked upon by a man who would love him like his own. I thought of those first baby noises, and then the cry.
It was then that I think, that the angels began singing their Hosannas. The first sound of life on that night began the process of eternal life for all mankind.

Sorry, maybe I'm rambling. I went in for my temple recommend interview last Sunday, and that is what really started me thinking about this. The second or third question is "Do you have a testimony of the Atonement of Christ?" My eye issue really has strengthened my testimony of that. I have kind of always reserved the Atonement for when I need to repent, but these last few months have taught me a thing or two about how He didn't just suffer so we can make our bad choices all better. I have felt comfort and peace knowing he "gets it."

Anyway, I really am grateful for His life. What a miracle of a life it was, and it all started in a little cave with cows and horses and sheep standing around. AND angels heralding His birth. I kind of want to think I was there singing my heart out. I know I want to now!

Anyway, I wish everyone a happy holiday season. I love you all and I am grateful for my association with you.
